The north section of Calgary currently contains 49% of the City’s current population and will be the future growth area going forward. The North Regional Context Study (NRCS) is a development framework for 14,000 acres planned as a sustainable growth corridor for 220,000 residents. Within the NRCS is the Keystone Area Structure Plan, the municipality’s largest approved ASP, designed to accommodate 60,000 new residents over the medium term. Construction of the first residential phase in Keystone will commence in 2014.
